Course of an osteopathic treatment

1. Anamnesis:

Your current state of health and your personal health history will be recorded in this detailed patient interview. The focus here is on circumstances and events that could be the cause of your complaints (accidents, operations, previous illnesses, stress level, physical strain from work / sport, etc.).

2. examination:

This is followed by a detailed examination, whereby I let myself be guided by the acquired information  and  the sensitivity of my hands. The mobility of the joints and the tension of the tissue are checked, starting with the part of the body causing the discomfort and relating it to neighboring regions, functional chains and the interplay of body, mind and soul.

3. Treatment:

Based on the anamnesis and examination, I formulate a diagnosis and present you with a treatment concept. The treatment is done exclusively with the hands, whereby sometimes your active cooperation is required and sometimes it is desirable that you completely relax and let go. Depending on the diagnosis and the technique used, the treatment can be very intensive and sometimes uncomfortable (e.g. when treating myofascial trigger points / -bands), whereby I stay in constant contact with you and let you determine what is the right level. Most of the techniques, however, are pleasant and relaxing.

4. Debriefing

After the treatment, you may be given one or two exercises as homework. I mainly teach breathing / relaxation techniques and postures from (restorative) yoga as well as stretching and strengthening exercises. The room is open to questions on your part, and if you would like to share thoughts or feelings that arose during the treatment, or if you want to give me feedback, then you are encouraged to express yourself! In most cases, no treatment interval is set. Your body should have the time to integrate the impulses that have been set. You decide whether and when another appointment is necessary.

Duration of a treatment:

approx. 40 - 50 minutes
